I happen to love being a health coach. I really feel that this was something I was born to do and nothing makes me happier than helping others during their journey to a healthy lifestyle.

I also love when I meet someone else with the same enthusiasm. Which is why I value my friendship with Kim Wilson Pollock. Kim is also a health coach who has written a new book based on her Get Well system.

What I admire about Kim's story is that it is real. She has struggled and has admittedly tried every diet known to man. She knows what it feels like to try and fail and not to feel good about herself. "My weight affected everything around me: my confidence, my self-esteem, and my social life, which were all nonexistent."

I don't know about you, but for me knowing that someone has been in your shoes makes me more likely to listen to them and follow their advice.

And Kim's advice is definitely something worth listening to. 

She wants you to love yourself – as you are – first and foremost. Then she advises that you adopt a way of living and eating that makes you feel good. Kim feels strongly that weight is not the problem; it is what is causing the weight that's a problem. "We don't need another weight loss system. What we need is a GET WELL system".

Some of her tips in Get Well include:

  • Improve your blood sugar
  • Boost your gut health
  • Eat your DLGS (dark green leafy vegetables)
  • Eat more healthy fat
  • Stay hydrated

Think it's too hard? Again, this is why I love her – in the book she breaks down an average day in her life to show you that it can be done. 

And this is not some quicky way to lose weight. Kim recommends taking small steps to make this a lifestyle change.
