With the new year upon us, it's time to jump right into those New Year's resolutions.
Now, every year people joke about making serious resolutions only to abandon them in just a few weeks. The key is to make resolutions that are easy to adhere too. And nothing is easier – and more yummy, I might add – than getting your nutrition from a smoothie.
Smoothies are fantastic for getting your daily allowance of fruits and veggies without feeling like you're consuming a bunch of bland fruits and veggies. To further celebrate smoothies, I wanted to highlight some of my favorites from around the web. Today I'm sharing a Superfood Smoothie called the Avocado Green Tea Power Shake from All Day I Dream About Food. This delicious drink contains loads of protein and antioxidants.
Avocado Green Tea Power Shake
Ingredients
- 1 tsp macha green tea powder
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 1/2 medium avocado
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup vanilla whey protein powder
- 2 tsp sweetener
- 1-1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together matcha powder and hot water. Set aside
- Cut avocado into chunks and add to blender. Add yogurt, protein powder, and sweetener
- Add almond milk and matcha tea mixture and blend until smooth
- Divide between two glassed and enjoy.
This recipe yields 2 glasses and has 9g of carbs and 2.5g of fiber.
