Health Benefits of Vetiver
I love introducing people to oils they may not have heard of. And vetiver essential oil is one of my favorites.
The vetiver plant, Vetiveria zizanioides, is a member of the grass family. Unlike other grasses, the root system of vetiver grows down, making it ideal for helping prevent erosion and providing soil stabilization. dōTERRA obtains vetiver essential oil from the roots of the plant (source).

Sleep is extremely important for the health of both the mind and body. When individuals do not receive adequate hours of sleep or have too many sleepless nights, body functions begin to slow down. Vetiver oil is a great essential oil for sleep and relaxation and can help give your body the sleep it needs.
To use: rub vetiver oil on the bottom of your feet to promote a restful night’s sleep.
4. Homework Helper
Vetiver oil is known to promote deep concentration. A study by Dr. Terry Friedman showed this oil was able to increase performance levels by 100%. The study also showed that vetiver, along with cedarwood, is very effective in improving focus and calming down children.
To use: diffuse 2 drops cedarwood and 3 drops vetiver at homework time or in the office.
