Ways To Use Grapefruit Essential Oil
Commonly known for its sour and tangy taste, grapefruit is the round, yellow-orange fruit of an evergreen citrus tree.
Grapefruit essential oil is derived from the rind of this fruit and is popular for its many uses and benefits.
The main chemical constituent of grapefruit essential oil is d-limonene. The uplifting benefits found in limonene are what make grapefruit oil a great oil for aromatic use. Limonene also has the ability to dissolve oils, which makes it a common ingredient in hand and body cleansers.
Here are my favorite ways to use grapefruit essential oil:
1. To Stay Focused
Grapefruit oil is known to increase your mental focus, as well as give you a bit of a pick-me-up. And when inhaled, it can be effective in reducing headaches, sleepiness, and brain fog. Grapefruit essential oil will also help promote feelings of vitality and can uplift your mood.
To use: in moments of distraction, diffuse grapefruit oil to bring a sense of focus to the task at hand.
2. To Support Metabolism
Have you ever wondered why people recommend eating grapefruit to lose weight and burn fat? It’s because the active ingredients in a grapefruit work to support metabolism, as well as curb sugar cravings. This makes grapefruit and its oil a great tool for losing weight in a natural way.
To use: diffuse while trying to lose weight for motivation. Also, add one to two drops to your water to support your metabolism.
3. To Relax
If you are in need of some pampering, grapefruit is the essential oil for you. It will leave behind a light uplifting fragrance and is the perfect pick-me-up at the end of the week.

4. For Skin Care
Many store-bought skin care products contain citrus oils, this is because they are high in antioxidants. Grapefruit is no exception and can help keep your skin free of blemishes.
