How to Use Marjoram Essential Oil for Your Health

Used during ancient times, the Greeks and Romans saw marjoram as a symbol of happiness. In fact, it’s sometimes known as “wintersweet” or “joy of the mountains”. Now it’s used all over the world as a culinary herb to spice up stews, dressing, soups, and meat dishes. And I’m sure it’s no surprise that I love marjoram essential oil.

Similar to oregano, marjoram is from the mint family and same genus of plants known as origanum. The difference between oregano and marjoram is in the smell. The aroma of marjoram is warm, herbaceous, and woody and helps promote a calming atmosphere.

Marjoram essential oil is made up of terpinen-4-ol, sabinene hydrate, and y-terpinene. And using this oil is easy, you can take internally, apply it to the skin topically, or use it aromatically.
