Improve Your Health With Turmeric Essential Oil

You’ve probably heard of turmeric – it’s the spice that makes curries and other foods yellow in color. But have you heard about turmeric essential oil?

Maybe you’ve even seen it available as a supplement at your local health-food store or in a commercial. Turmeric, that comes in capsules and spice bottles, is a powder from a root and is dried and ground.

Turmeric oil is a much more powerful choice when it comes to using this spice for various health benefits.

Health Benefits of Turmeric Essential Oil

1. Supports a Healthy Nervous System & Healthy Cellular Function

Turmerone and ar-Turmerone are two chemical components that help support a healthy nervous system, as well as cellular function, which is why turmeric oil is a staple in my daily health routine.

To use: when you’re feeling like your nervous system is out of balance or needs calming, add Turmeric oil to coconut milk and honey for a delicious drink.

2. Boosts Antioxidants

Turmeric gives your body the antioxidant support it needs to protect your body from free radical damage. It also supports healthy immune function, as well as immune response. Also, curcumin is the pigment extracted from turmeric. It’s known to have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and its use dates back to 3,000 B.C.

To use: place 1-2 drops into a veggie capsule and take daily.

3. Reduces Joint Pain

Turmeric’s active components are known to block inflammatory cytokines and enzymes (source). That, plus it has been shown to improve circulation. All this makes it a great oil to use for joint pain.

To use: dilute a few drops in fractionated coconut oil and massage the mixture into sore, stiff, or painful joints.

4. Relieves Anxious Feelings

Some days can be difficult, especially if you suffer from anxious feelings. Turmeric is known to promote feelings of positivity and improve mood. One study with 123 patients showed that after 12 weeks of a low dose of curcumin and saffron were effective in decreasing anxiety symptoms (source).

To use: diffuse in your favorite diffuser or simply put a drop or two into your hard and inhale.

5. For Skin Care

Turmeric supports clean and healthy-looking skin, while reducing the appearance of blemishes.

To use: add a drop of turmeric oil to your favorite facial moisturizer.
