Clean Without the Chemicals
Years ago, when I would clean our home (or make my kids do it), I’ve did what most of you do – I went to the store, grabbed a bottle of Seventh Generation or Mrs. Meyers cleaner, and went on my merry way.
Then I learned how easy and CHEAP it is for me to make my own non-toxic essential oil disinfectant cleaner.
Here is one of my favorite DIY disinfectant spray. It works great and it leaves my bathroom and kitchen clean, germ-free, and smelling amazing.
Germs-Be-Gone DIY Essential Oil Disinfectant Spray Recipe
- ½ cup white vinegar
- ½ cup water
- 15 drops of doTERRA On Guard Protective Blend essential oi
Mix all in an amber glass spray bottle (these are the ones I get on Amazon).
Why On Guard essential oil? Because it’s a powerful blend of oils supports healthy immune function and contains cleansing properties. It combines wild orange peel, clove bud, cinnamon leaf, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus leaf, and rosemary leaf/flower essential oils. On Guard protects against environmental and seasonal threats, as well as boost the body’s natural antioxidant defenses.
And in case you’re wondering why I recommend an amber glass spray bottle as opposed to a inexpensive plastic one, it’s because essential oils are sensitive to light. Also, you don’t want to put them in a plastic spray bottle because the can interact with the plastic.
