You Know Essential Oils Are Good For Your Health, Now Learn How They Can Help You Manage Weight.
If losing management is on your resolution list for the new year, then you may want to learn how something as simple as an essential oil can empower you to achieve your goal.
Now, this is not a fast-fix, or some magical potion that’s going to have you in a bikini in 3 weeks. These are some essential oils that can help you on your journey. Please use them in conjunction with a healthy weight management regimen.
Here are some essential oils that can help you manage weight by taking 1 drop in a veggie capsule or 1 drop in 4 ounces of water daily. ***CAUTION: not all brands of oils are recommend for internal use.
Grapefruit*
Just like eating grapefruit, grapefruit oil can suppress sugar cravings and your overall appetite. Grapefruit oil comes from the peel of the fruit, so you’re getting more good stuff than if you just ate a grapefruit. And the oil can also boost your metabolism.
Lime
A 2010 study found “that lime essential oil plays an important role in weight loss and could be useful in the treatment of drug-induced obesity and related diseases.” The citric acid from lime facilitates healthy digestion. And since lime is so acidic, it reduces the absorption of sugar from the food you eat
Cinnamon
Researchers have found that cinnamon regulates glucose levels, so it’s often recommended for those with diabetes. Cinnamon can also balance blood sugar, which reduces sugar cravings. Adding it to smoothies, tea, or even your favorite baked good will slow the rate glucose is released.
Cardamom
A lesser known spice, cardamom oil is used as a digestive aid because it has properties that promote good metabolism. Remember that weight isn’t always about what you’re eating, but more about how your body digests what you eat. Cardamom helps burn calories, fats and carbs quickly. Added bonus: cardamom also helps lower cholesterol.
Black Pepper
While not a traditional weight management item, black pepper oil does help with digestion by stimulating the entire digestive system.
Cumin
Another digestive essential oil, black cumin in particular assists with weight gain triggers, such as appetite control, glucose absorption and blood sugar level maintenance.
How to Choose Safe Essential Oils:
After doing my own research, I have come to find that not all essential oils are created equally. I’m a huge advocate for Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) oils because many essential oils on the market today are diluted and adulterated. Also if you read the labels of some store bought and even high priced brands that are supposedly “100% Pure” they state that they are not safe for internal use. That leads me to believe that they’re not actually 100% pure and safe.

*Grapefruit can interfere with the action of some prescription drugs, as well as a few non-prescription drugs. Ask your pharmacist or other health care professional to find out if your specific drug is affected.
