A Must-Try Superfood Smoothie Recipe
So here we are at week 3 of me sharing my love of smoothies.
Week 1 brought us an Avocado Green Tea Power Shake from All Day I Dream About Food, which is delicious and loaded with protein and antioxidants.
Week 2 was one of my favorites – a Triple Berry Chia Smoothie found over at Two Peas & Their Pod. It’s sweet and nutritious.
Today I found one that is perfect for those slow mornings when you need a little boost of energy. Shareba from In Search of Yummy-ness came up with this smoothie when she was looking for some nourishment during her busy days.
Blueberry Oatmeal Superfood Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup regular oats
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 tsp ground flax
- 100g Greek yogurt
- Ice cubes
- Granola for topping (optional)
Directions:
- Pour the almond milk into a bowl. Add the oats and allow them to soak for 5-10 minutes.
- Pour the oat mixture into a blender, and add all of the other ingredients, except granola.
- Blend until smooth and top with granola if desired.
The best part about this smoothie is that it is extremely filling and can satisfy your appetite, so you don’t grab that donut!
